The Partner Employment Assistance Program (PEAP) is an initiative specifically designed to support the career development and employability of partners of Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, particularly during relocation periods. This program recognizes partners’ unique challenges when military members are assigned to different locations, which often leads to disruptions in their employment.

Consequently, PEAP provides valuable financial assistance and resources aimed at enhancing partners’ professional skills and job readiness. For instance, this may include funding for training courses, certification programs, and workshops that focus on building essential skills needed in the job market. Moreover, the program also offers support for resume development, interview preparation, and career counselling. As a result, partners can feel equipped and confident in their job search, ultimately paving the way for a smoother transition into new employment opportunities.

This program is a popular and personalised programme in which we work with you to:

Phase 1 – Building the Platform

At this stage, our consultants will work with you to create your career toolbox and ensure that you are relevant to the roles you are interested in, e.g. public v private sector and operational v leadership roles.  We will also teach you how to access the hidden job market as part of this process.

The career toolbox typically consists of:

• A Professional Resume
• Multi-Use Cover Letter
• LinkedIn Profile
• Job Board Profiles

You must understand how application tracking software works, or you will likely not get past the application phase.  Our in-depth knowledge of current recruiting trends means My Career Professional knows how to support you in achieving the required outcomes.

Phase 2 – Sourcing employment together

We will show you how to use the latest job search technology and conduct an effective job search process in both the advertised and hidden employment markets.

• Learn how to create an effective job search process to meet your expectations.
• Design and create networking strategies to increase your job opportunities.
• Receive advice on how to choose a recruiter and manage the ongoing relationship.

Phase 3 – Interview Performance Coaching

At this stage, we coach you in:

• Interview Preparation and Performance Coaching
• Telephone Interview Coaching
• Tackle any concerns and work with you to achieve the required outcome.
